COUN 660 - Clinical Psychopathology


3 credits.
This course will focus on the diagnostic criteria, course, and prevalence of mental disorders according to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual. Students will be able to identify mental health disorders affecting individuals from childhood to adulthood. Emphasis will be placed on identifying the syndromes, understanding their etiology and recognizing the treatments of choice for each, as well as acquiring the vocabulary to communicate with and make referrals to appropriate professionals when necessary.

Prerequisite(s): 24 or more counseling graduate credits.
