NURS 430 - Health Care Policy and Regulation 3 credits This course presents the broad context of health policy and law and the way policy is formulated. It emphasizes the social, ethical and political issues that affect the delivery of health services, particularly the impact of policy decisions on professional nursing practice. It also provides an overview of the maze of regulatory agencies that influence and control practice, particularly as they relate to issues of quality and safety. Three lecture periods.
