BIOL 465 - Advanced Laboratory Techniques 1-6 credits The study and application of advanced laboratory techniques in the context of an area of specialization, such as, but not limited to the following: molecular biology, protein biochemistry, phylogenetics, microbial fermentation, chemical composition of environmental samples. In addition to laboratory sessions, independent study, data collection outside of normal laboratory sessions, and field-trips to collect samples may be required. Lecture and laboratory sessions will focus on the theoretical and practical skills required to address a research-centric topic. May be repeated for credit when the topic changes.
Prerequisite(s): BIOL 288 with a minimum grade of C- and MATH 171 , or permission of instructor. Additional prerequisites may be recommended, depending on the topic. Corequisite(s): None.
