NURS 315 - Nutrition: Health and Disease 3 credits This course provides nursing students with a firm foundation in the science of nutrition and emphasizes the interrelationships among nutrition, food and the environment as they impact health and well-being. Principles of normal nutrition at all stages of the life cycle including social, religious, and cultural factors are explored. Students will discuss the role of nursing professionals in developing a nutritional plan of care to meet the needs of healthy individuals and those with various disease processes using evidence-based practice/research.
