MAED 220 - Rational Numbers and Proportional Reasoning for Elementary and Middle School Teachers


3 credits
This course combines the study of rational numbers and proportional reasoning with content-specific pedagogy based on current trends in mathematics education research. Students will develop conceptual understanding of rational numbers and proportions, ways of representing numbers, and procedural fluency. Students will actively engage in a problem-solving environment through investigations and hands-on activities and manipulatives.
