5 credits. Development of basic oral expression, listening and reading comprehension, and writing, for students with a limited amount of previous formal instruction in Spanish.
Prerequisite(s): one or two years of high school Spanish or other formal instruction not to exceed three years. Followed by SPAN 201. Five classes and language lab work. Corequisite(s): None.
