The Psychology major is a flexible program through which students acquire both breadth and depth of psychological knowledge. In addition to coursework in core psychology subfields, such as social and personality psychology, development, biopsychology, cognition, learning, psychopathology, and cross-cultural psychology, students develop skills in research design, data analysis, oral and written communication, and ethical reasoning. The major includes two professional development courses to help students investigate and apply for jobs and graduate school, and all students complete a research, teaching, or workplace internship.
To satisfy requirements for graduation, students majoring or minoring in psychology must earn a grade of no less than C- in all courses that are applied to the major or minor.
