SPED 525 - Evidence-Based Reading in the Content Area Instruction 3 credits Evidence-based reading in the content areas is a course that explores how students comprehend and learn through text and strategies that teachers can use to facilitate this learning. Students will explore a variety of evidence-based practices to teach in the content areas, including activating prior knowledge, teaching vocabulary, and building reading comprehension skills. Theoretical and foundational considerations will help frame the exploration, modeling, and practice of a range of strategies.
