SOWK 392 - Junior Field Instruction Internship 6 credits. This is the first of two sequential courses. This course is open only to majors with junior status. Students will spend 14 hours per week in a local community agency under the supervision of an agency based field instructor. The purpose of this course is intended to begin the application of beginning level practice skills in working with individuals, families, groups, organizations, and communities from a generalist perspective. Reinforces students’ identification with the purposes, values, and ethics of the Social Work profession. Field education is systematically designed, supervised, coordinated, and evaluated based on criteria by which students demonstrate the achievement of program objectives.
