BIOL 360 - Developmental Biology 4 credits One of the most complex processes in biology is the transformation of a single cell - the fertilized egg - into an adult organism. This course provides an introduction to the genetic, molecular, and cellular mechanisms that direct the development of multicellular organisms. Topics include: gametogenesis, fertilization, gastrulation, organogenesis, sex determination, developmental gene regulation, teratology, aging, and ethics. 3 lecture and one 2-hour lab periods.
