ENGL 335 - American Literature: Contact to Romanticism
3 credits The literature of contact and of the colonial, early republic, and antebellum periods, with an emphasis on major authors such as Smith, Mather, Bradstreet, Franklin, Emerson, Hawthorne, Melville, Poe, Douglass, Whitman, and Dickinson.
