BIOL 251 - Introduction to Ecology and Evolution 4 credits The second tier of a three-semester introduction to the study of biology. An examination of the central concepts of evolutionary and ecological theory and application. The principles underlying the interactions of organisms within their environments including the population, community, and ecosystem levels of organization are discussed. The lab normally includes local field trips and the completion of research assignments as part of a functional team. 3 lecture hours, and 2 lab hours.
Prerequisite(s): BIOL 120 or BIOL 101 with minimum grade of C-; Restricted to majors and minors from Biology, Integrated Environmental Sciences, Chemistry, and Physics. Corequisite(s): None
