HIST 345 - Critters, Crops, and Disasters in Latin America 3 credits This course examines the changing relationship between nature and human culture in Latin America. Attention will be given to human attitudes and appetites, from Aztec cannibalism to contemporary conspicuous consumption, as well as to the role of characters like hookworms, whales, hurricanes, bananas, ants, and guano in history.
